We reserve the right to change this Policy at any time. The "Last Updated" legend at the top of this Policy indicates when it was last revised. Any changes will become effective when we post the revised Policy on the Services.
Information We Collect
We collect information that you give us when you create an account, contact us, or otherwise access or use our Services, any information you voluntarily submit to us, and information regarding how you use the Services. Specifically, the foregoing includes:
- Your internet protocol address (i.e., IP address) and, if you access the Services from a mobile application, your unique mobile device ID number and non-email authentication.
- Your name, email address, telephone number, profession, other employment information, date of birth, profile picture, your responses to surveys that we may ask you to complete for research purposes or to help direct Company activities, the contact information of your representative, your social media account information, and information regarding your personal plans and objectives as it relates to future employment opportunities.
- Details of any financial transactions you participate in on the Services, including the amount, currency, and method of payment.
- Information you provide about your employment status, income, budget, and household, if you choose to participate in our Merge program.
- Information you provide, including information about your vision for your company ,progress-to-date, equity breakdown, etc., when you choose to apply for our Solo Founders Program.
- Browser and device information and information collected through technologies such as cookies, pixel tags, and other technologies.
- Mobile app usage data that we and our service providers may track and collect, such as the date and time the app on your device accesses our servers and what information and files have been downloaded to the app based on your device number.
If you disclose any Personal Information relating to other people to us or to our service providers in connection with the Services, you represent that you have the authority to do so and to permit us to use the information in accordance with this Policy.
How We Use The Information We Collect
We use the information we collect to:
- Deliver and improve the Services and your overall user experience.
- Protect, investigate, and deter against fraudulent, unauthorized, or illegal activity.
- Link or combine user information with other Personal Information.
- Compare and verify information for accuracy and update our records.
- Email, text, message, or otherwise contact you with information and updates about us and the Services
- Respond to your comments and questions and provide customer service.
- Send you information including confirmations, invoices, technical notices, updates, security alerts, and support and administrative messages.
- Review your Merge application, if you choose to apply for a grant, including to assess scholarship eligibility and financial need and administer a grant if awarded.
- Review your application to participate in our Solo Founders Program and administer the program.
- Send you marketing related emails, with information about our services, events, and other news about our Company.
- Facilitate social sharing functionality that you choose to use.
- Analyze how you use the Services with tools such as Google Analytics and other tools to help us understand traffic patterns and know if there are problems with the Services.
- Better understand your interests and preferences, so that we can personalize our interactions with you and provide you with information and opportunities tailored to your interests.
- Create targeted advertising to promote the Services and engage our users.
- For our business purposes, such as data analysis, security, identity verification, audits, identifying usage trends, determining the effectiveness of promotional campaigns, and operating and expanding business activities.
We may aggregate and/or anonymize Personal Information so that it will no longer be considered Personal Information. We do so to generate other data for our use, which we may use and disclose for any purpose, as it no longer identifies you or any other individual.
How We Share Personal Information
We share your Personal Information with the following:
- Partners: Sometimes we collaborate with other organizations to deliver the Services. In these cases, we may share your name, contact information, and other details you provided when making an account with our partners.
- Affiliates: We may share Personal Information with our affiliates and/or subsidiaries.
- Service Providers: We share Personal Information with our third-party service providers, to facilitate services they provide to us, such as website and app hosting (including through provision of tools that enable us to analyze your interactions on our Services), database administration, cloud computing, advertising, payment processing, data analysis, information technology and related infrastructure, SMS services, and services provided by non-governmental organizations.
- Payment processors: We use third-party payment services to process payments made through the Services. If you choose to make a payment through the Services, your payment-related data will be collected directly by the third party payment service rather than by us and will be subject to the third party's privacy policy, rather than this Policy.
- Other Users: We may share redacted information of our users with other users of our Services for the purpose of getting your consent to make introductions for relevant opportunities. By using the Services, you may elect to disclose Personal Information on our Community Platform and other services to which you are able to post information and content. Please note that any information you post or disclose through these services will become public and may be available to other users and the general public.
We may store information, using our internal tools, such as your contact information and employment details, that are necessary to enable us to operate effectively and deliver our services to you. We may also use, disclose, or transfer your Personal Information: in connection with any proposed or actual reorganization, bankruptcy, merger, sale, joint venture, assignment, transfer, or other disposition of all or any portion of our assets; when required by law or to respond to legal process; to protect our customers; to protect lives; to maintain the security of the Services; and to protect the rights or property of Company.
Protection of Company and Others
We will also share Personal Information with companies, organizations, or individuals outside of Company if we have a good-faith belief that access, use, preservation, or disclosure of your Personal Information is reasonably necessary to detect or protect against fraud or security issues, enforce our terms of use, meet any enforceable government request, comply with applicable law or for other legal reasons, defend against legal claims, or protect against harm to our legal rights or safety.

We and our service providers may collect information automatically in a variety of ways, including:
Your browser or device
Certain information is collected by most browsers or automatically through your device, such as your Media Access Control (MAC) address, computer type (Windows or Mac), screen resolution, operating system name and version, device manufacturer and model, language, Internet browser type and version and the name and version of the Services you are using. We use this information to ensure that the Services function properly.

We and our service providers use various technologies, including cookies, pixels, and web beacons, and similar online tracking technologies (collectively, "Cookies") to collect information about you when you interact with our Services, including information about your browsing behavior and user experience. First and third-party Cookies allow us to collect such information as browser type, time spent on the Services, pages visited, language preferences, unique identifiers, content you view, click on, or share, screen actions, and other traffic data.

How Do We Secure Your Personal Information?

If you have an account with us, you are responsible for keeping your membership details confidential. Your account is protected by your account password, and we urge you to take steps to keep your Personal Information safe by not disclosing your password and by logging out of your account after each use.

You have several choices regarding the use of Personal Information on the Services:
Changing or Deleting Your Personal Information
All users may review, update, correct or delete the Personal Information furnished by a user in their user account (including any imported contacts) by contacting us at privacy@joinodf.com or by accessing your user account. For your protection, we may only share and update the Personal Information associated with the specific email address that you use to send us your request, and we may need to verify your identity before doing so. We will try to comply with such requests in a reasonably timely manner. If you completely and permanently delete all of your Personal Information, then your user account may become deactivated. If you wish to cancel your account, you may do so through your account page, and any personally identifiable information associated with your account will be deleted as soon as is reasonably practical or as required by applicable law. Please note that we may retain information that is otherwise deleted in anonymized and aggregated form, in archived or backup copies as required pursuant to records retention obligations, or otherwise as required by law.
Download or Access Personal Information
You can ask us for a copy of your Personal Information and can ask for a copy of Personal Information you provided in machine readable form by emailing us at privacy@joinodf.com.
Opting Out of Email Marketing
We may use some of the information we collect for marketing purposes, including to send you communications about new Company features, products, events, or other opportunities. If you wish to stop receiving these marketing communications, please follow the opt-out instructions, such as clicking "Unsubscribe" (or similar opt-out language) in those communications. Please note that if you opt out of receiving marketing related emails from us, we may still send you important administrative messages, from which you cannot opt out.

This Policy does not address, and we are not responsible for, the privacy, information, or other practices of any third parties, including any third party operating any website or service to which the Services link. The inclusion of a link on the Services does not imply endorsement of the linked site or service by us or by our affiliates. By using the Services, you agree that we will not be liable for any damage or loss caused by your use of or reliance on any content, advertising, products, or other materials on or available from these third-party websites or services.
Children Under 16
The Services are not directed to individuals who are under the age of thirteen (13) and we do not solicit nor knowingly collect Personal Information from children under the age of thirteen (13). If you believe that we have unknowingly collected any Personal Information from someone under the age of thirteen (13), please contact us immediately at privacy@joinodf.com and the information will be deleted.
A Note to Users Outside the United States
Our Company is based in the United States. The Services are controlled and operated by us from the United States and are not intended to subject us to the laws or jurisdiction of any state, country or territory other than that of the United States. Your Personal Information may be stored and processed in any country where we have facilities or in which we engage service providers, and by using the Services you consent to the transfer of information to countries outside of your country of residence, including the United States, which may have data protection rules that are different from those of your country. In certain circumstances, courts, law enforcement agencies, regulatory agencies or security authorities in those other countries may be entitled to access your Personal Information.
